I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:1-5, ESV)
Hurt and pain make everyone uncomfortable. But there is a difference between trying to offer true Christian healing and love and comfort to someone and trying to make yourself feel better or trying to do away with the hurt simply because it makes you uncomfortable or because you're tired of hurt.
We have to remember that Christ has laid out specific trials, tribulations, and crosses for each of us to bear and those are not crosses that we should seek to escape. Through those crosses Christ causes our idols to crash down around us and mercifully brings us to Himself.
With a new year came another new pregnancy to celebrate and now, less than a week later, another baby gone home to heaven and a new name, Noel Eve. This baby was conceived on Christmas Eve so we named the child accordingly. Christ keep this precious baby and may we be reunited when the Lord brings us home to heaven.
Abide with me, fast falls the even tide, the darkness deepens, Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Oh Thou who changest not, Abide with me.
"Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; they saw the deeds of the Lord, His wondrous works in the deep. For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;
they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits' end. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven." Psalm 107:23-30
